The Client
Harrington Woodfuel is in the business of high-quality, sustainable timber for both trade and the public. They’re making a name for British firewood like the passionate firewood brands across the pond, and they take pride in their ‘Ready to Burn’ guarantee.
The Brief
When Harrington Woodfuel came to us, they initially just wanted support with their emails. But we dug a little deeper and realised we could do so much more for them.
We saw that before going into the marketing, we needed to lay the brand’s foundations and build a Shopify website that reflected their passion and quality.


The Solutions
There were three areas we saw as key drivers of the Harrington Woodfuel story and experience:
1. Branding
2. Shopify website development
3. Public and Trade shop categories
1. Branding
To make sure the brand’s passion and drive for quality shone through, we brought things back to basics. We took the time to collaborate on brand values, audience personas, and created visual and tone of voice guidelines for a consistent look and feel. This was a key step before incorporating this branding into an engaging, sales-driving Shopify website.


2. Shopify website development
Next came a new ecommerce website with passion, brand story, and user experience at its core. Using a personalised Shopify theme, we developed a new website with a few crucial features:
- High site speed
- Customisable site layout for merchant control
- Location-based pricing
Most importantly, this was a website that told the Harrington Woodfuel story. Using a consistent tone of voice, colours, and lifestyle imagery, this website now went beyond the functionality to share the brand’s passion for what they do.
3. Public and Trade shop categories
The website was also given two separate shop categories, one for the public, and one for trade. This was an important distinction as trade customers would likely be buying wood in much higher quantities and therefore needed that extra guarantee of a quality product.
Within the Trade section, we could highlight that quality message even further with examples of clients they’ve worked with and key certificates to certify the standards of the wood, giving customers peace of mind with every purchase.
